Blog? What Blog?

So once again it's been months since the last blog. So it goes, I'm just as busy as the next gal but time sure does get away from me. I do appreciate looking back at the blog. So what's new....

Sophia:
Sophia started first grade this week, I'm not sure how that happened. It's an adjustment for her, but I know she'll do okay after she gets used to it.
She is so sweet and so tender hearted. She loves so fully and tries so hard at everything she does. I'm so proud of her.

She started soccer this evening. I think she really liked it. She doesn't quite understand how the games will work but she has her first game this weekend so we'll see how it goes.
Just like Sissy- Ava watched her the whole time and played with her own ball.

Ava- my sweet Ava is two and a half. She brings me joy every day with her sweet, spunky, and slightly OCD personality. She still ends up in our bed every night some point in the night but she is a good snuggler. She loves to do anything her sister does and misses her sister quite a bit when she goes to school. She talks more every day and impresses me with the random words she can say. The other day she put a tortilla around her wrist ( I know super random) and says to me "I've got a bracelet!". She's a kick!

Work- well I went back to work last month and students started this week. I have 29 first graders as of today but it's only the second day so time will tell. I have a feeling I'll end up in the mid 30's and that thought makes me want to cry. So it's me and 29 six year olds all day. The last few days have been rough but it can only get better (at least that's what I tell myself). I could write a book but all I'm going to say is that if our society thinks a class of 29 first graders and one teacher in a high poverty, diverse neighborhood makes sense then we have our priorities all wrong- it is SO frustrating. Last night I  was feeling super discouraged by "all the world" but someone's got to do the work so I guess I'll keep trucking along. One moment that made me remember why I do this was today, the kids were all on the carpet and we were so hot ( no AC on a 90 degree day in a room full of tired kids- don't be jealous) and I was teaching them a song as we were about to leave and one shy boy raised his hand, he hadn't talked all day so I called on him right away. He says "Teacher, I love you!", melted my heart right there.

That pretty much sums up the here and now. We had a great summer with so much fun family time. Hopefully those memories will get there own post soon!
Well it's time for my favorite- Big Brother then bed and it all starts again. Good night!

Last Half of April 2015

The last half of April mainly consisted of getting ready to move! In March we put an offer in on a new (to us) house and it was accepted. Then, over my Spring Break we worked hard to get our old house cleaned up and ready to put on the market. Then we had an offer put on our old house after it being on the market for about 36 hours. We were so excited, then about a week later, much to my severe frustration, the guy pulled his offer on our house. So then began the daily showings and never being able to plan anything at home because we needed to be ready to leave and show it at all times. Well, that process continued for the whole month, and then finally the original guy put a new lower offer on our house and we accepted it. We moved May 1st and our old house finally closed in June.

When we weren't working, packing, or cleaning we did manage to have some fun with our girls.

We went to the park and carousel one nice Spring day.

Sophia wanted to ride on the bench and Ava rode a horse with Daddy nearby!

Ava got a bad cold and continued to get these random face rashes so we went to the doctor for that. We were referred to an allergist.
Ava (or Mommy, since she still lets me dress her) greatly enjoyed wearing her fun Spring outfits.
We had a busy April with a lot of uncertainty but, as always, we enjoyed spending time with each other!

Picture Time

A few random pictures of what we have been up to when we aren't at work and school or trying to sell our house...again. (Yes, we sold our house within two days of putting it on the market, then 5 days later the buyer chickened out, we were so irritated!!!).
Bunny ear craft Ava made at school
My wild girl and her midnight snack- this is what happens when she doesn't eat her dinner. She also had part of a ham sandwich, then went right back to sleep after we brushed her teeth again.
Even rock stars like car naps!
It's dollar cone season again!

Awe, this guy! Almost 7 years married and he's still my favorite. We got a kid free night and went to see the Broadway show of "I Love Lucy". It was super fun!

How does she look this old?
Too cute!
Easter Egg hunting- once she discovered they contained candy she was all about finding every egg!

Looking at Easter goodies with my sweet girl.
Cousin love!
These four girls are beautiful inside and out!

Easter Morning!

Easter morning was lots of fun this morning! I love celebrating these special days with the girls. Sophia has been excited for days and this was the first Easter where Ava was old enough to really participate so we were excited to see the fun through her eyes!
Baskets waiting to be looked at...
Sophia seeing her basket for the first time.

Light up balls are lots of fun!
Sophia's favorite thing- bubble gum!
Checking out her treasures!
My two little bunnies! Love these girls so
much!

Searching for eggs!

Happy Easter!!!
